I headed out from AZ to see Tom about a multi add on. Is there anything that is a must do or place I need to grab a beer? I am coming alone and while the training is set for 2 days, weather and airline have me out there nearly a week. After training I will most likely go to Battle Creek because I get a "real good" rate at the casino there. Maybe if there is anyone in the area that wants to hang out or whatever let me know March 13-19th believe.

Ed might be available and on the rebound since Eren crushed his hopes with 6PC

The wife is from Cadillac so I've been out there a few times. As far as stuff to do in Cadillac, well, it's a small town :) Not sure if you like skiing, but Caberfae Peaks about 20 minutes west is a decent place. I've only been there in the summer, however, but I know they make their own snow if mother nature doesn't cooperate. Cheap beer at "The Pines" on the west side of the lakes also (on the highway towards Manistee).

Let me know how the training goes. I plan to getting my own ratings from Tom once I get commercial ASEL done.

Not from there, but I do try to get up there a couple times a year to fly the yellow airplanes at Northwoods Aviation on anything but normal landing gear (skis, floats, bushwheels on a low-snow year so far).

I also did my commercial multi with Tom in the mighty Apache. Be sure you know all FOUR ways to get the gear down! And say hi to Tom and Kevin. Have fun!

Just looked at that today while sitting by the pool.
From memory
1. Hydraulic pump
2. Hand pump
3. Electric aux pump
4. C02 bottle blow down.

I'm in Grand Rapids. If you're a beer person, Founders Brewery should be on the list. I also did my Multi and Seaplane with Tom. Did Tom move the Apache to Cadillac? When I did my Multi with him, he was still keeping it in Traverse City. If I still have the Comanche I may actually be in Texas at the beginning or end of that time frame. If it's gone, I will most likely be around.

Yea the Apache is in cadillac. I will check back with you once it's closer to see who is around.
