Are VHF comm antennas typically coated with anti P-static paint? Comm antenna on my C182 has lost its paint and exposing the fiberglass rod. Lately I am experiencing occasional poor comm reception and I am suspecting P-static buildup. The spec for the antenna I am thinking of buying (Comant CI 175) just mentions polyurethane enamel finish. It doesn't mention anything about anti P-static coating, so I am wondering if replacing the antenna will actually improve the comm reception.

It will not improve. Your 182 doesn't go fast enough to build up appreciable P-static. It just barely goes fast enough to stay in the air.
