News media features stories they think people will want to read so they can charge their advertisers that much more. RIP to the folks in the Socata.

Answer: you clicked it and posted the link on a forum.

Nowadays they probably count the number of clicks on an article. How many times have you clicked on an aviation accident article recently?

Edit: I must have posted right after the person above me....

'...the bubble-headed bleach blond, comes on at five.... She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye - it's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry...'

Sensationalism sells in the news industry. Never any consideration for the family.

Same reason people slow down to look at a car accident, people want to see death.

Because aviation is so safe these kind of things don't happen that often. Less often = more news worthy. Also, plane crashes equal either many lives lost or many dollars lost or both.

They have nothing better to do. That's why I stopped watching the news....
