I got my fix, too. It was supposed to be clear today, but sure enough, around MRB I was in and out of BKN CU and requested and was granted the VOR DME-A to OKV. Visibility was also below three miles there.

I logged some actual time during the trip there and back through those BKN CU. I probably could have logged more for the areas where I am sure the vis was below VFR (barely able to see the ground at 4,000 or 5,000 feet, and only able to see about 2 miles ahead of me in places), but I kept it conservative and only counted cloud time. For some reason, FDK's vis seemed to be better at about 4 or even 5 miles at times, but still had BKN CU. (Strangely enough, FDK's AWOS was missing cloud information.)

Very nice to know that the hood practice does work to keep one's skills up.
