Final Approach
last night. our flight school does this every summer. viz was AWFUL. let's put it this way - over 95 - you could see headlights, but, in the other lane, you could barely see taillights (this was going home, maybe 830-845). stacks way up ahead in the haze (very bright lights) looked like traffic - on OUR own level. talk about disorienting. viz was supposedly 5-7 but I really don't know how they calculate 5-7!
at any rate, the crabcakes were delish. and it was a fun trip overall. first time I sat in "my" plane, in the back seat! on the way home I sat shotgun. got to pay more attention to navigation, which is easier to concentrate on when you aren't doing a ton of other things - i.e. flying, talking to the radio, etc.
