Been waiting about 1 year for this spot to come open. There is a Helicopter spot open in my agency, in which I'm qualified to apply for (Just need a Private Pilots License). Now I have to start putting together my resume and hope it looks good for the review. If all goes well, I will be put infront of a review board where they will grill me on questions Aviation related. Then if that goes good, I will be flying Helicopters and getting paid to do it 
Been throwing a lot of money into flying every month (staying current) and taking Helicopter lessons when I have the money. I'm hoping this financial strain right now will pay off!
