If you are fascinated about aviation history and can name the first woman to fly solo around the world, read no further. But if you think it was Amelia Earhart, you'd be wrong. Click here to view a short Youtube video that describes the fantastic journey of Aviation's Forgotten Pioneer, Jerrie Mock, and then pass this video link around to anyone you know who has an interest in hearing the greatest aviation story that's never been told.

Help our project gain mainstream media attention so this courageous female aviator can get the respect and notoriety she deserves. Here's that link to pass around:

I find it shocking and quite sad I have not heard of this amazing woman. Or, if I have it was presented as no significance to remember. This guy's movie is one I'd certainly pay to see.

She's not even listed on the 99's web site. Why is this? :dunno:

Obviously, he's seeking attention and eventual marketing for this but heck, if there is a story that deserves to be told, this one of them and kudos to one who puts forth the effort to make it happen.

I dug up a few links to look at:

http://www.ctie.monash.edu.au/hargrave/mock.html

On the following site, it does list one women prior to WWII but her journey was not entirely by air.

One link I saw said she completed the entire trip by ADF and dead reckoning. I imagine there was a significant limitation on VOR use in many parts of the world, particularly a few of those over-water segments!

Well Dan, I hope you can get her story out there, along with the movie.( i'll go see it ) And i thank you for the history lesson ,that i will use.
