I find it shocking and quite sad I have not heard of this amazing woman. Or, if I have it was presented as no significance to remember. This guy's movie is one I'd certainly pay to see.

She's not even listed on the 99's web site. Why is this?

Obviously, he's seeking attention and eventual marketing for this but heck, if there is a story that deserves to be told, this one of them and kudos to one who puts forth the effort to make it happen.

One link I saw said she completed the entire trip by ADF and dead reckoning. I imagine there was a significant limitation on VOR use in many parts of the world, particularly a few of those over-water segments!

She wrote a book, too, called "three-eight charlie", about her adventure. It is not in print any more, but my local library system had a copy... it was a GREAT read, with plenty of photographic documentation in it. Try to find a copy!!

I know it's been discussed on this board before, as that's how I learned of the book; she was definitely an amazing and adventurous woman!
