American Pilots will not return to Brazil

yea i dont think id be to interested in going back either. itd have to be very forcible.

The xpndr issue is all eye wash. They were under positive control, at the assigned altitude. If the controllers didn't have a beacon from them, they should have done something immediately, like "Embraer, no altitude, and no beacon, cycle your transponder, and ident". Instead, they routed a 737 toward the Embraer, and then lost track of both.

As with most accidents (my opinion), it was never ONE thing that caused it. I have to agree with you. Did anyone ever get a cockpit recorder, or other ATC transcript / tape out of this?
