When one transfers an airplane how long is the temporary registration certificate valid?

Until the permanent registration arrives or 90 days (whichever comes first), but can be extended if the FAA hasn't issued it by then.

If you are approaching 90 days contact the aircraft registration folks in OKC, they can issue an extension letter.

Thanks guys, a friend was getting a bit concerned but since its 90 days they have plenty of time.
