So for a while now I have been considering replacing the dingy interior in my 1965 Cherokee, It has a new motor and newish paint job an I figured it was time for "phase 3" .An IA friend of mine said non-sense and advised for about 100 bucks worth of new plastic, a rented steam cleaner (only/$30 day), and a full day we could have it looking like new again.I took us about an hour or so to remove the entire interior and we began to steam clean it with a Rug Doctor , 40 years of peoples sweat and body oils equals about 15 gallons of black water...yuck! Reinstalling the interior was much more of a pain but after things were tightened up, and some new plastic was added things have never fit better . I am simply stunned at the difference for roughly $130 as I was ready to spend much much more than that.

Cool. Look forward to seeing it.

You are lucky the plastic interior parts stood up to the abuse of removal
and reinstallation. A lot of the plastic in my 1974 cherokee is cracking
and broken.

I know what you mean...when I replaced some panels in my C150 it was like a crumbling newspaper. Luckily the stuff on my Piper was much stronger.
