Air Facts, one of the longest running GA magazines (since 1938!) has now gone digital; here's a well-written "I almost didn't live to tell you this" story, involving thunderstorms and a 172:

I didnt know a 172 max was 10k, I've filed IFR at 12 and been up to 14 (and it would have still gone up some more)
