Why is the FAA having a hissy fit over a minor modification, specially when it is better than the CESSNA POS.

It's not an installed part..... but.... have your motor go pow and have flames pour out the cowl and see how fast you can get the seat lock off to get out of the plane. When it happened to me? I had Cessna locking reels installed in short order!

if you have flames you hAVE Biger problems than your seat and tom link sucks

If you develop the need to exit quickly a secondary unlocking motion is a very bad thing. Cessna locking reels are a much better solution.

I thought the FAA stayed hands-off items which are not 'permanently installed' ie by rivets, screws, bolts? cf; yoke mounts for portable gps?
