Cleared for Takeoff
Anyone ever use this unit?
My Zumo 550 is getting long in the tooth and on my last ride up in the forest, I managed to tear off the already loose rubber button for the on/off switch, which is lying somewhere on the USFS 7601 Road to the Stuart Lake Trailhead. haha
I can probably fix it, but the time has come to think about a replacement.
I'm too cheap to spend $700+ on a new Garmin and we came across the Aera 510. I LOVE that I can hook up the XM and get some decent weather on it, like we do with the 396/476, (the motorcycle specific ones are useless for weather) and that it can survive a ride in the rain.
Does the touch screen work with gloves? I don't care about some of the motorcycle specific goodies on it. I have a Sena on my helmet for bluetoothing music from my phone, and no, I don't make phone calls while I'm riding. . And I am assuming I can't get Lifetime maps for it...dang.
