should the US be worried? https://warisboring.com/irans-faux-...ing-second-appearance-5026447fd2fa#.l5z5yzra7
Guess they figure their enemies wouldn't see it from the ground. Iranian still flying F4s! But they have begun to order commercial airliners from Airbus and I think Boeing too. I'm sure old Putin will sell 'em some Migs.
I would think the Iranians would just swamp out an opponents air force with lots and lots of ultralights. Way cheaper and probably effective.
Hilarious, indeed. Per Wikipedia, the name of that class of submarine is real: The video would be even better with English subtitles, I'm sure.
Granted, I didn't watch the entire 8+ minutes of the video, but where's the hilarity? What am I missing?
That sub is a freakin' joke! They equip it with instrumentation off of old 70's and 80's fishing boats, and it barely submerged. I wouldn't feel too threatened by it.
Indeed, with that kind of money I hear they're building a few air assult fleet, just found a leaked photo of their new air supremacy fighter. We should surrender now! Only people under threat of that "sub" are the poor bastards they got to submerge inside of it.
It's really hard to take that seriously. It's a mini sub with a 4 man crew. I would love some subtitles to know what they were saying. It was probably something like, "with this technologically superior war machine, we shall defeat the Zionist American Navy, should they choose to navigate the waters given to us by Allah."
Their duty stations are built out of plywood with random off the shelf switches and dials. I saw enough rust on the sides that I bet it couldn't hit anything more then a wooden dock or sink. Plus they look to be diesel electric boats that can't submerge far. I wonder if their batteries can hold enough charge or if there are even batteries in the thing.
From the looks of the canopy on that fearsome fighter, it looks to be a an IFR fighter only! Hopefully they get compliments on their instruments.
No, it's how they are spending their own money that we had frozen years ago. Being snide only works if you deal in facts.
I could be wrong, but it looks to me like one of the masts is a snorkel head. As it is likely that the batteries are by their 'sell by' date, the sub won't be able to submerge beyond the depth of the snorkel mast. I am sure our sub fleet is quaking in their boots - from laughter! -Skip
