AA flight lands at Fort Worth Meacham instead of DFW

wow - that's weird. I wonder what the connection between faulty fuel gauges and diverting due to Wx could possibly be. Interesting indeed.

Full disclosure: I did not read the story. Here's my HO anyway. If you suspect but cannot verify that you're in low fuel status, you might not want to end up in a situation where you might have to do a missed approach, since that burns up a lot of fuel. I can imagine other scenarios connecting the two. Since I didn't read the story, I have no idea if this is pertinent. I'm just saying there could be a connection.

From a friend at AA:

Looks like the center tanks weren't feeding and he was low on gas due to weather holds and he decided to get it on the ground right away. That's all I know for now.​

Sounds like a good decision to me.
