So, FAR 91.207 (2) says I must have "an approved personal type, OR and approved automatic type emergency locator transmitter..."

My question is, what is an approved personal type emergency locator transmitter? Can I velcro my ACR ResQlink to the instrument panel of my tiny EAB and call it good?

Yes, its a 2-seater, and yes I plan to go further than 50nm from my home base.

Under their approvals I don't see anything from the FAA, though I do see a sarsat one, you could call them and ask if they are FAA approved, my guess would be no.
