2014 LSA Registration Data

I think it tells volumes that the best seller is also the most expensive airplane in the class. Also, 100 P2006T twins sold, haha. Someone sure has money to blow on airplanes. What we really see here is the death of the middle class. All that's left are the rich and those who ride public transit.

Actually saw a p2006 twin on the ramp at Sarasota Fla. Not impressed for the money.

Wonder what'll happen to these things when the third class goes bye bye.

Probably very little for many of them since the U.S. market is allegedly not as big as one might expect:

"As last month’s column showed, the light aircraft market (including variations of LSA and LSA-like aircraft) is bigger internationally than in the USA. In truth, it is much larger overseas, with Europe alone buying more light aircraft than the USA. To remind readers, traditional general aviation aircraft may have the lion’s share in America but overseas they are a fraction of the total aircraft market."
