It looks like I will drive, probably my Jeep TJ. I might get there Thursday late or Friday morning. I have to leave Friday evening either way. My wife would probably be willing to attend if I come up Friday but is not interested in camping so Thursday is out for her.

"For Darn Sure" (already got time off work approved) but my tail numbers are big 747s to Michigan from SFO, then after that I'll be on tail number 7DS.

Everywhere is on the way to 6Y9, Ya know. Torrington only adds a mere 50 miles to the trek. But,,, I'm on call that weekend, and being an employee now kind of makes it more difficult to get away. :dunno: Maybe next year. :idea:

Exactly. There only only a few "need to"s in life - and those are physiological. (Although I suppose you could choose to not do those and die) Everything else is a choice.

You don't need to bring anything. There's a big shopping center across the street so you can pack light. No!

You'll be camping for a couple nights. The Fredericks have installed a rough shower in the schoolhouse at the end of the runway. There is a convenience store about a block away that has some stuff, but basically plan to bring with anything you will need to camp while there, keeping in mind that you will be flying into a relatively short grass strip, so w&b is important.
 
If anyone does need to run out to get anything, there is a grocery store about 4-5 miles down the road. (Opposite direction of Hoppy's)

Wait, what!? The road goes the other way, too!? I thought the state highway was there just to get you from the airport to Hoppy's. I didn't realize there was a reason to go any further.... well, unless you're taking "the old highway" and end up in the Twilight Zone.
 
Nights in those latitudes can get chilly, so do bring a warm sleeping bag, a ground pad, and a warm jacket.

Well... Speaking of physiological stuff and dying... My choice has helped me lose 40 pounds since the beginning of June. I feel MUCH better. Sorry 6Y9, I'll have to catch ya some other time...
