Ok so allow me to vent here a little by sharing my last 2 attempts to fly!

After a week of solid rain here on the Cape it frinally was beautiful and time to fire up the "new" to me plane.

Day 1 (Sunday)
Pre-flight the plane and get ready to taxi out and the plane is STUCK! Full throtle nothing is happening.
Turns out I had a siezed right brake!!!

Day 2 (Monday)
Moving the plane to its new home (KHYA) from the short little grass strip - we have no real headwind component and a short strip with fuel and another passanger.
Brake is fixed, runup is good, take to the runway (dial in flaps, and full power) everything is great,
where you should insert "Airspeed is alive"
My Airspeed was dead! we were flying fine just not airspeed indication.

Thank for letting me vent!

Don't forget to check for insects relocating to your pitot.

The last ride I made at Gaston's the fuel boost pump did not come on when I flipped the switch (AdamZ's fault!). :)

After cranking thru a few blades and trying again it works. I have my mechanic checking it today. We think its a loose connection at the pump as the panel annunciator light works and the starter is strong (so no battery issue). And I think my hi oil temp is simply a folded back baffle strip at the oil cooler inlet. I can be so blind to the obvious some times.

"Owning is better than renting"

Keep saying it and you will believe it.

"It may be a hunk, but it's MY hunk."

Can't wait 'til I can say that.

Welcome to airplane ownership. Now repeat this phrase over and over

"Owning is better than renting"

Keep saying it and you will believe it.

I believe I believe I think :)
