Since we're talking about it... I figured I'd post this again:

1997 Mooney Ovation, $159,900/offer or looking for partners in Milwaukee area.
Hangared at KMWC, Milwaukee, WI

Performance:
* I plan on 170 KTAS at 12 gph. It'll do 175 up around 9000 feet. You can make it go 10 knots faster, it'll cost you another 5 gph to do so, so I don't.
* Full gross on a standard day, you'll climb to 10,000 feet in under 10 minutes at a 120 KIAS cruise climb speed. Full gross yesterday (cold), I was getting 1600 fpm. Myself and full fuel in the cold, I've pegged the VSI (>+2000 fpm).
* Range: Slightly over 1000nm with full fuel - You can climb to 10,000 and go for 6 hours at 170 KTAS with an hour reserve.
* Useful Load: 1011 lbs. Good for full fuel and 493 lbs, or enough fuel to climb to 10,000, go 500nm, and carry 703 lbs.

Airframe:
1450 total time since new

S/N 29-0101, the 6th 1997 Ovation, came off the line in Dec. 1996 (and is thus registered as 1996)

Two cigarette lighter-style outlets mounted in baggage compartment "hat rack" and connected to the two batteries to facilitate easy connection of battery minders. (And yes, we'll throw two 24V battery minders in with the plane.)

Really nice.

15. Another pic inside the right wing showing part of the autopilot roll harness.
16. Inside of tail. O2 tank, one of the batteries and the top of the pitch trim servo.
17. Inside the belly - Landing gear linkages.
18. More of the belly innards - Control and gear linkages, gear motor, etc.
19. In flight panel shot - Climbing through 13,200 MSL at 120 KIAS and still getting 650 fpm.

Logbooks: Complete since manufacture, Adlog system, scans available upon request.

Hopefully this gives at least some sense of how nice a plane this is.

Email through this site, or call (414) 305-2447 if you're interested. If you want to partner with me and a couple others, even better!

Kent live in mortal fear that someone buys this airplane! ;-)

Mooney builds a stunning airplane. So glad, too, that I can write this in present tense, again!

I'd think about buying it but it has no blower on the noise-maker. Would you drop the price $100,000 and get a STC or field approval for adding a turbo?

(yes, this is a joke based on complaints about less than serious sellers & buyers)

Hah!

In all seriousness, though, this plane is overpowered (see "Performance" above). I frequently take it to 16,000 feet and I've had it at 19,000 once. I found a picture when I was looking through them yesterday where I was truing 170 KTAS at 11,000 feet burning 10.4 gph. Who needs a blower?

Of course, that hasn't stopped me from WANTING one when I'm just above a potentially icy cloud deck at 17,000 feet and not feeling like I have the performance to ask for higher. (I could get there, but slowly.)

Of course, when you hang a blower on this airplane, it's called an Acclaim, it burns more fuel and goes the speed of heat. :)

That is a beautiful airplane!!

Thank you! It is beautiful, but hard to get that across in an ad where they artificially limit photo sizes, etc.

Yes! I tell ya what, if I had the coin, I'd order a 2014 Acclaim today. :D

Beautiful plane. In the spirit of kindness, can you donate it to the JC needs a plane charity? :D. In all seriousness, I wish I had the money for it.

Hmmmm. See my thread about "next airplane for Tenhi flyers" :)

Has anyone called the number that Kent posted? I wouldn't be surprised if it was 'accidentally' one number off. ;)

Well, I know you are a fan of Twin Comanches, so I will trade you for mine. just had a fresh thorough annual, so it's good to go.

Of course, that doesn't change my need to get a partner to afford this habit of mine, but it would bring the fuel price down a little.

:D

Hey Richard ( CountryAir ).. Nice phrase you used in your post.. You couldn't think of another way to put it like maybe "talk you down"

I didn't quote your post in the hope that you now realize it might have been wrong and want a chance to change it. I guess we will see..

Maybe if it had a useful load sucking air conditioner for us warm weather guys.

Oh, and can you drop the price by $40,000?

:)

good looking plane. I always feel like my plane is so small when I look at the newer mooneys.
