It's been pretty much official for a while now, but my junior/senior course selection has been accepted by the school, so it's truly official. I will graduate from Lander University on December 16, 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems with a focus in Software Development and a minor in Mathematics.

Right now I don't really have any idea where I will be working after graduation (trying to put together my resume to get it sent out), and the idea of graduate school continues to float in and out of my head, but can't nail anything down at the moment.

If anyone wishes to make plans to be in my fan section, I'd be honored to have you :)

Final Courses as an undergrad:

Fall 2006
Subject----Course----Level----Title-----------------------Credit Hours
CIS--------321-------UG------Analysis and Design---------3.000
CIS--------360-------UG------Database Design------------3.000
CIS--------498-------UG------Design and Implementation--3.000
FR---------111-------UG------Intensive Elementary French-3.000
POLS------310-------UG------Russian Politics--------------3.000

congrats! I actually started out as a Comp Sci/Math major (got a full boat 4 yr academic scholarship to Penn State too) and ended up as a French Major as the very last minute. which apparently hasn't harmed me.... much.

where does the fan section sit?

Very nice William and I am glad you will be graduating soon. But with the CS degree where in India are you planning to live and will they allow you immigrate legally? Almost all of our IT functions are now contracted out to overseas companies. The few IT people we have a specialists in certain telecom type technologies but even those have been moving accross the pond. I hope you are interning somewhere to get a leg up on a job after graduation.

From what I understand, the software development positions are flowing back to the US because of persistent communication issues between clients and the developers in India. Companies are beginning to realize that any gain from the outsourcing is quickly diminished due to less than perfect software. Each time the firm has to send the software back for corrections pushes the release date and cuts into profits. Of course, I also have a background in networking and am willing to fall back on that, and there's always the choice of graduate school for my ultimate goal of teaching, but I don't think it'll be necessary right now. I do, however, need to get on the ball when it comes to preparing my resume and getting it to the companies on my list. :D
