My father had several C-150 trainers on line in the mid 70s. Using 100LL would normally allow them to run the engine some 500 hrs before the valves would leak and drop the compressions. We changed the valves to the different angle units and reground the seats, the engine would run to TBO and the later O-200 engines with the factory installed valves would go straight to TBO and beyond.
