disabled newbie

I'm nearing retirement and I'm thinking about learning to fly and buying a plane. (I'll ask some questions about the first one in another thread). My wife is disabled: she has to walk with a cane. The obvious choice seems to be a high-wing airplane, Cessna, Tecnam, or the like. But it looks...
