    Liberty University in Virginia

Took my son there to check it out when he was thinking of Law School. Actually it was a side trip with UVA and Duke being our real goal. Very impressed with school. Know people who have gone there. Great people. My son went to Bob Jones University for his B.A. and his M.A. ........Liberty little...

    Liberty University in Virginia

Fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Didn't see much of that at Berkeley. It's an extreme example but the point is I'd much rather go to BJU or Liberty than Berkeley if I had to do it over again. BTW Shannon Bream...

    Liberty University in Virginia

My son and I visited Liberty when he was thinking of going to law school. Personalized tour of the school. Very nice people.. high character type, clean cut. ..and a safe place for a daughter to be. I would sleep soundly at night. My kids went to Bob Jones University. One of the main reasons...

Is there any medical justification for delaying FIVE times dosing time for medication

Re: Is there any medical justification for delaying FIVE times dosing time for medica Rule of thumb in biopharmaceutics/bioavailability: it takes 5 half-lives to reach plateau level in body.

    Piper Cherokee 235 Training

I second that! I had just finished up my commercial training in a Cessna 210 which moves along pretty good. After obtaining my commercial I flew my 85hp Cessna 140 for fun, but when I wanted to go somewhere relatively quickly I used a Cherokee 235 from a flying club I belonged to. Well, I took...

    First Long XC after PPL

Tehachapi mtns can be brutal. Try using victor airway 165. That's what I used coming back from Columbia and/or Bay Area many times. Not as severe as what you planned. The Tehachapis is nasty with turbulence...also big updrafts /downdrafts 500-1000 ft per min. Stay as high as you can. It doesn't...

Researching Purchase... Is this a good deal?

Get that instrument rating ASAP! I did a lot of trips between Lancaster and Monterey/Watsonville/Scotts Valley and Columbia. Boy was my boss mad at me when I told him I was fogged in and had to wait till it burned off- he had to work for me till I got back. Always knew Lancaster would be...

    Woodruff,SC Triple Tree Fly-ins

My wife and I drove down there a few weeks ago from Greenville, SC. What a beautiful facility. It was empty except for a handful of RCers in the RC area. Amazing! Rolling hills as far as the eye can see. The spacious camping facility with RV hookups? impressed me, nestled in and right next to...

NEW USGS FIGURES FOR BAKKEN OIL

Anybody with a crystal ball out there? Last year I dropped out of a Cherokee partnership because I was retiring and the price of gas in our area was close to $6.00 per gallon. The USGS announced last month a huge change in oil reserves because of Bakken oil in the Dakotas. I've read that...

    Air sickness

Marezine tablets work. They are like Dramamine but won't make you drowsy. You will probably not find them on the shelves of Walgreens, CVS, etc. You need to go to the prescription counter and have them special order them for you. I've used them ever since flying in the Mojave Desert and had to...

Looking for the perfect GA airplane.

FYI-- on the Vari EZE-- I was building one back in the late 70's. I lived in Lancaster, Ca and took my parts out to Mojave Airport on Saturdays to have Burt Rutan look at them. He was not famous then-and had extra time to give TLC to the builders-so he gave me a lot of learning when it comes to...

    Planning a longer cross-country

This is my first post. When I took my private pilot check-ride the FAA guy told me to get down to 1500MSL which was about 1100 ft agl. He then picked a point on the map and told me to fly there...no VORs ...just use the map and what I could see on the ground. That was 1977. It would be...

    Unconventional Landings

Not to be a smartypants.....but, try landing in the mojave desert on a hot and windy summer day with crosswinds(the normal 30degrees or so at 25 knots gusting to 30 at Gen Fox in Lancaster, Ca) using full stall....you'll get blown off the runway.
