    Best plan of action?

Just finished up my PPL in April, and I am going to ASU in August. By the end of next summer, I would like to have my IR. Im planning to find a job and save up through the school year, and I would like to be ready to start the training once school is out in May. What materials should I acquire...

    Teenage Pilot Website

Then I have to figure out how to market the site to them so that they learn about it-- the biggest challenge. I was thinking of aiming the site more at prospective teens looking to learn to fly. When I was learning, I always wished to learn more about flying from others my age. I think a...

    Glass or steam?

Definitely learn on steam instead of glass. Saves money and it is much less distracting. However, when flying cross country in a single engine plane at night over the Cascades, the synthetic vision, nearest button, and relative terrain warnings really are assuring.

    Teenage Pilot Website

Hello Everyone, Some of you may or may not remember my post from a month or two back in which I was asking around to see if anyone here besides me was a teenage pilot. I have been pondering some ideas since I finished my ebook (Teenage Pilot if interested) and I am currently considering...

    Complex Endorsement

Just wondering what reading/study materials I should be reviewing for when I train for my complex endorsement. I don't really know what to expect-- all the FAR/AIM seems to say is that I need ground and flight training, but nothing specific. Any input would be great! Thank you

Engine outs on FAA Private checkride

Here is another that I learned: Glide, Grass, Gas. In other words, attain best glide speed, find a place to put her down, and then troubleshoot the problem.

    Time Logging Question

I'm in the same boat. I haven't officially began Instrument training, but i'm about to go buy a few study materials to start learning, and i'm working on XC time now. Yesterday I was able to fly with a CFII up and down Oregon while he was purchasing an airplane. Extremely luckily for me, the...

    Great weather

In my area, this last march was the 4th rainiest march in recorded history there. Of course it was during the spring that I happened to be training for my PPL...

    Class E airport intersection departure

Relying on your GPS in Vegas might make you stay in Vegas

One of the airline pilots that I work with says that I shouldn't even be using a GPS at my level. "Learn how to FLY," he says, and I kind of agree with him. Of course the GPS that I have is a sweet little device and adds a great sense of situational awareness, but sometimes I wonder if, in the...

    Class E airport intersection departure

Tomorrow night i'm going to fly my 3 night landings so that I can take a passenger at night. My airport is a towered class D airport during the day, but the tower closes at 9, and as we all know, the airspace is turned into Echo. The plane that I rent is parked near the middle of the field, and...

    Teen Pilot

    Tie Down Ropes Dangerous? Yes!

That is what I have always though. However, I don't own an airplane, and I don't have much say in the matter :dunno:

    Trees... (uh oh)

Right past the numbers. I was aware that I wanted to save as much runway as I could, but I do believe that I let her roll for a bit before adding power again. The reason I didn't calculate the distances before hand was because I regularly fly into another nearby airport that has a runway of...

    Teen Pilot

That is awesome I cant wait to begin Instrument training. Hopefully it may come in a little cheaper than the private because I can use a simulator. I think im going to spend this summer building XC hours, but next summer I plan to knock that one out. However, I may land a job that allows me to...

    Teen Pilot

I know that Field's father was first, then Field, and now his son runs the airport, or something to that extent. Field is a funny guy, and i'm glad it was him who gave me my checkride. That is judgment that I can trust. He told my instructor that the challenge will be to get every applicant to...
