Looking for advice from Bonanza 35 owners current or previous

Thanks for the insight! The thing I like about that specifically is that if I find one and the ruddervators are perfect I can feel pretty confident they will continue to stay that way. I live in Phoenix where it's very dry so corrosion should be less of future issue I hope. Cheers, Chris

Looking for advice from Bonanza 35 owners current or previous

The S35 for me in general was the price and speed in that era of Bonanza. I'm looking at it as for my mission and price what's the plane that I would like the most. So for around the $125K range I can usually find a pretty nice S35. I just think it's hard to beat the performance and useful load...

Looking for advice from Bonanza 35 owners current or previous

I am looking at buying a plane next year and I have always had a thing for a Bonanza S35 but the magnesium ruddervators have me a little scared to be honest. I understand that if corrosion is found you are pretty much done and the plane sits till replacements can be had and it's not like you can...

Insurance on a Experimental Plane VS Factory

Thanks! You guys with your real world examples are exactly what I was wanting to hear. So it seems as my info I got from others as to insurance on experimentals are very expensive and overpriced is not true and that's what I was hoping to find out. Of course everything will depend on the exact...

Insurance on a Experimental Plane VS Factory

That's what got me hooked on speed. My buddy bought a 81 Mooney M20K 231 which is turbocharged of course. We flew it from Phoenix to OSH last year and I have flown it a few other times and it's nice dong 175 kts or more and being being on O2 up high. :-) Cheers, Chris

Insurance on a Experimental Plane VS Factory

Rob, Thanks for the info. That's good to know. So I would say that's very comparable to any other certified plane of that value. Had you owed any other planes before the RV? Cheers, Chris

Insurance on a Experimental Plane VS Factory

Thanks guys, Yes a IFR ticket would also something I would have before buying a plane. The mission is a XC plane for 2 but would really like a 4 place if the budget allowed. For example if I wanted to do a trip from here in PHX to go see my family in MO. I would like to be able to do that with...

Insurance on a Experimental Plane VS Factory

Hello all, Can any of you who have owned both a certified factory plane. Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, etc.. and also some kind of experimental please tell me what you have found to be true when it comes to insuring them. For example a 200hr pilot with complex and HP endorsements owning a Bonanza...

    KPHX-Cutter?

That's a bummer I miss them. I went a few last year. It was fun landing on the South runway and mixing it up with the big boys. Cutter fed you for free and no one charged any landing fees or anything like that. Here is a couple of my videos from it...

Inde Car track - southern AZ

Average of 72 hours to check ride

I used a private CFI instead of a school and I only flew when I had cash in my pocket. I do a lot of computer and IT work on the side so as I completed jobs I would go take a lesson. It took me just over one year to complete and about 55 hours. Cheers, Chris
