    Garmin GDL 82 advice needed

Ahhhh, that makes sense thank you. It was difficult to make that out with what I have here. It looks like the anonymous mode switch is fairly simple to install too, something I will definitely be doing. It appears to be a switch that grounds pin 5. The other discrete switch is the failure...

    Garmin GDL 82 advice needed

Ok....so you have to strip a USB wire and pin it to the multipin connector???? They seemed to gloss over that in the installation manual. It reads as though the USB B connector is already in/on the box somewhere!

    Garmin GDL 82 advice needed

Following this thread with great interest. I just bought the GDL 82 but won't see it for a month or so as I am at sea. I am a bit frustrated with trying to envision how the USB plugs into the thing. I am guessing you pull the RS232 out of the box and the connector is stuffed in there somewhere...

    Great landing...

The FAA told me that an engine tear down was not necessary. The prop shop says this prop can be dressed. Here are some pics of the broken aft retract rod (caused by the seizing of the fwd retract rod)

    Great landing...

Yes it did. That was my airplane. The prop should dress out so I am told. I am looking for gear doors and cowl bowl as well as the retract rods. The aft rod broke causing the nose gear to stay in the well.

    [NA]HA"Rules"[NA]

Funny, neither can most of my neighbors. One of the biggest jerks on the board of directors of the Falmouth Airpark HOA, just lost his house to the bank. I went to the registry of deeds to research my other neighbors mortgages (something I would never do to a REAL neighbor).....and...

    [NA]HA"Rules"[NA]

Here is my problem with the whole "Rules" thing. The number one rule is that Americans are subordinate to and take the benefit of the protections of the Constitution of the US ;(see the first 10 amendments... the Bill of Rights) plenty of people have given their lives so that we can. No...

    [NA]HA"Rules"[NA]

I just had to sue my HOA. I am doing it Pro Se because I couldn't in good conscience contribute to the lawyers relief act that the whole HOA mess has become. The Falmouth Airpark Homeowners Association is trying to make me build a hangar on my home 17 years after I completed construction. MA...

He did die at 98. Great old guy. He used to drive by the home he was forced to sell by the HOA at the Falmouth Airpark when they threatened him with fines he couldn't afford. I absolutly dispise the HOA and the people who run it. I think....no I know.....that I can appreciate how the...

    Living in an Airpark?

HOAs seem to me to be at least quasi-governmental. I think there needs to be a bill of rights for people who are subject to them. Or maybe the Supreme Court needs to decide that they are fullfilling governmental functions, and therefore ARE governments. Wow, That is actually quite brillant...

    Living in an Airpark?

Hello Aunt Peggy! I am a merchant mariner but commerical fished many years in AK, out of Dutch Harbor. I have owned a C172 and then a C182 but sold them years ago. I was the 4th house built in the Falmouth Airpark, and it used to be a real blast! Some of the neighbors were a little uptight, but...

    Living in an Airpark?

I live in the Falmouth Airpark, MA. What a nightmare! When the developer left the jack booted idiots couldn't wait to ruin the place. First was "complaint forms" so you could rat your neighbor out. Just like East Germany. They sued a 90 year old man for something the HOA had expressly...

Living in DC area -- Advice?

think "community", and NO HOA I couldn't agree more! I live in the Falmouth Airpark, MA and the jack booted idiots have ruined a great place. They have sued countless folks....lets see.....our only African American for 20K, a "New York Jew Lawyer" as described by a board member still...

    [NA]HA"Rules"[NA]

I live in the Falmouth Airpark, MA. The BOD just sued my 90 neighbor for something they had expressly authorized him to do a few years earlier. The BOD faction changed, and went looking for partisans to the old board to punish. In other words, the rules get made up as they go along. This...

Living in DC area -- Advice?

think "community", and NO HOA!. I can't second that more strongly. I live in the Falmouth Airpark in MA and we absolutey hate it. The first thing the jack booted idiots did when the developer left was to issue complaint forms so you could rat out your neighbor if you liked. Kind of like...
