What happens if you go above the certified altitude?

Well, you'll be a test pilot.

What kind of quick drain is this?

I suspect from the spruce catalog that there is a matching part (the plastic piece) that you connect to a drain line, and that snaps into the brass part you see there, and opens the drain.

    Reducing Hobbs/CFI time during training

Great - first, talk with your CFI, and you can work out ways to minimize hobbs time. When doing instrument flight stuff it's easy to do all your programming and getting weather and clearance before engine start on a handheld. Primary training there's not a lot of stuff to do between engine...

    Reducing Hobbs/CFI time during training

Honestly - if you're trying to pinch pennies on your training, you may not be able to afford flying. If you're worrying about costs, you're not learning as effectively as you could be.

    first IFR flight I hope.

KAGC is easy-peasy in and out, Pittsburgh is generally pretty laid back. Be ready for squirrelly winds as the airport is on the eastern US version of a mesa and there can be weird up and downdrafts. First solo IMC is a milestone - enjoy it!

    When a drone attackes..Arming a small drone.

My great grandfather told me how scared people were when the automobile came out. You'd think by now we'd have learned as a society that technology can be used for good or ill and would stop panicking about it.

Clearance through LM or call approach on phone

Suggest you call the approach facility and ask them? I'm pretty sure there's a guy there whose job includes this sort of customer service. At my home approach facility one of the Quality Assurance folks is the "ambassador" to the GA community. Edit: If there's a number published for...

    Approach briefing question

I run through the VOLPE strip at the top (or the top of the Jepp plate if using Jepp) No later than the IAF. Then, like Ron, I reconfirm the final altitude, MAP fix, and the first target for the missed.

    Busted Checkride write up

Agree. It is apparently passed through matrons. My genetic grandmother, my aunt, my male cousins. My mom was spared and thus I was too. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Maybe.... and that's also unprofessional. If a candidate isn't ready, bust them, and calmly explain why.

    Complex Endorsement(Mooney M20J)

Oh, one caveat to the J model - the emergency gear extension mechanism in SOME Js have gears internally that can be soft and strip if the gear is not properly rigged. If I remember correctly the gears are part of the emergency extension part of the gear "transmission", and it doesn't affect the...

    Busted Checkride write up

You did see the word ASSUME, right, indicating a hyptothetical? If the OP tells the truth and you tell the truth, and you both were using the same AME, then there's something wrong with the guy. Not saying it's Alzheimers, but something is not right. Nobody who's a calm professional on one...

    Busted Checkride write up

Let's assume both stories are true, and the DPE's behavior does, in fact, vary widely. That's something that lends credence to Henning's theories about mental illness. I've had the misfortune to watch one branch of my family tree (my aunt and two of her three children) die in their 30s and...

    Complex Endorsement(Mooney M20J)

You'll adapt, and learn to love the Mooney. They're great cross-country machines and instrument platforms.

My wife is joining me this year at Oshkosh

See if you can get dorm rooms. Then, when you're leaving the grounds after a long day, you can say "if we were camping, we'd be home now".

We are closer than ever, please contact your representative

Bet if you met him you'd like him more. Same with Ed, Me, and probably a bunch of others - There's so much context missing in an internet post that it's probably a lie to call it communicating.
