    Struggling with single engine commercial

I dunno, I think it's situation specific. I mean, it "should" work just fine in theory, but I could see how for some the two might not mix well (ie., flight training and marital duties/relationships).

If you’re not progressing with your husband, then you should stick to the other instructor.

Sportys Rant - incomplete process and tests including topics not seen

Ditto. In my opinion, the worst of the offerings available. I stand by my old advice - use Sheppard to pass the test, and use King or Gleim to actually learn the material. Sporty’s isn’t great.

CFI says I can’t use electronic E6B on written — what??

Exactly. Bring the electronic E6B. If they don’t allow it, just leave it with the proctor and get it after you’re done. No harm, no foul.

Anyone here involved in running an airport?

A lot of folks have that impression, but they learn rather quickly.

Cessna down after stalling on take off

I saw the video clip a week or so ago. Just another example for a Darwin Award, sadly.

    Dangerous request from airport manager?

I agree. It’s not unusual at all to find class G airports, in fact, *most* non-primary airports are.

Do you think a bachelors degree will ever become necessary again to become a pilot at the airlines?

Source? I disagree. Was a degree 30 years ago more valuable than it is now? Maybe, but only because fewer people attended college back then and more went into trade fields. Nowadays, society has pushed young people into going to college and portrayed it as being the way to have a lucrative...

Do you think a bachelors degree will ever become necessary again to become a pilot at the airlines?

I strongly believe it will come back, despite what some flight schools might feed you to get your business. Let me tell you one absolute - a degree will place you ahead of the folks who don’t. Anyone who says otherwise is deceiving you. Get the degree. You’ll be glad you did.

    Sticky hangar doors

Sag in the door track? When ours start to become difficult to roll, we replace the rollers and bearings and it makes them like new again.

    10 takeoff and landings towered

That’s really it. I have seen our DPE turn folks away because they didn’t have the aeronautical experience required. Some I’ve seen didn’t have it logged correctly, others just missed a requirement in the FAR. Like I say, it didn’t matter much to me to make specific flights to satisfy the...

    10 takeoff and landings towered

Agree. Ours is right by the book. When others hear about it, they often say “oh wow, he must be a hard examiner.” — No, he just plays by the book.

    10 takeoff and landings towered

I think it really depends. For me it was the fact that most of the ones I had peppered within my logbook over the years didn’t state whether or not they were solo and I didn’t want any discrepancies to come up on the checkride so it was worth it to me to just make two flights specifically to...
