Anyone looking for Hangar space at KWEA, west of Fort Worth, let me know. I have space available in an almost new 50x70 hangar right at the runway. Hangar has a hydraulic remote control door, LED lighting, air compressor, lots of power throughout hangar, fridge, water, access to pilot...

For Sale 1/2 or 1/3 share in L-2M Taylorcraft at KWEA, west of Fort Worth

Anyone interested? 1/3rd would be $10k. Guaranteed you'll have more fun than in any Piper or Cessna built after 1955, and at a much lower cost. Engine is an O-200. An L-2 is significantly faster than a cub on 65hp (85mph vs 65 to 70mph), so with the O-200 this plane is a great performer...

Slick mag - impulse not working, what is broken?

On my left slick mag, the impulse coupling doesn't click and I get a large RPM drop. All four cylinders are firing. Is this a broken impulse spring? Haven't had a chance to open it up yet. The mags have about 500 hours.

    Home Thermostats

I have had 3 nests in two different houses. It is decent but has some significant flaws. The auto-scheduling feature is overhyped and will only work for someone with a very regular schedule. However the user interface is very good, it is very, very simple to make quick adjustments to the...

Any interest in the Statistics of engine failures?

Drone hits plane on climb out

737 winglets are over 8' tall...look at the still pictures, that would make the "drone" about 5' or more in diameter. I've never seen a multi-rotor drone anywhere near that size. Also, the drone would be terribly lightweight and very fragile compared to the winglet. At best you'd probably get...

    Pilots of America Member Map

People can find the thread, but not the map link since it isn't in the first post and pretty quickly isn't one of the most recent posts. Most people aren't going to search through multiple pages to find the map link.

    Holocaust

Really? That is new information to me. Can you point to sources that show that it was common knowledge to the American public before 1945 that the Nazis were gassing millions of people? Also, how were we tolerant of it? We reduced most major German cities to rubble. Is that considered...

    Holocaust

I'm curious, what quicker way to end the genocide existed, other than killing Hitler and destroying the Nazis? I certainly believe the Allies did not understand the scale of the Holocaust until the final months of the war. Most Germans didn't know the scale of the genocide, although they...

Fort Worth area people...looking to start a partnership

i just moved (back) to the area, and recently sold a share in a Cardinal that was an incredible deal. It was a nice IFR Cardinal, with autopilot, decent panel (496, IFR, Stratus) great interior and great paint. Cost for that plane worked out to about $80 to $100/hr, wet, including all fixed...

    Summer "haze line"

What is the name of the "haze layer" seen when flying on summer days? It is always at the bottom of cumulus clouds, and is where you go from bumpy to smooth air. It rises as the air heats up. I've seen it forever, but don't know what it is actually called. Is anyone familiar with a website...

    Tiger folks: service ceiling question

I took a 160hp Traveler to over 18,500 true once (under 18,000 indicated, but over 18,500 or so true per the GPS). I was solo, so more than 300lbs under gross at takeoff, and it was a three hour leg. The elevator was at a ridiculous trim angle to maintain the AOA necessary for level flight...
