Flue Season is here- I opt out of flue shots.

Try to get at least 15 minutes a day of direct sunlight more if possible. For some of us that gets difficult. Sol or room on our homes are more than just fancy rooms they can be a real contribution to health. http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Memorial.aspx

Average age of Comanche pilots - ICS

Hi guys, its a slow day and I was wondering. Ive gone to a few international Comanche society events and fly ins and it seems that the average age there is north of 65 years old and I always feel like one of the young bucks at 57. I can't remember where but I seem to read that Comanche pilots...

I am sad! N6496R left in wx, no windows

How do you make a small fortune in aviation? You start with a big fortune. I was out at my old field today and the guy who bought my airplane is having hard times. The airplane now has a storage lean on it. They started to rebuild the engines last February and he has half the engine and the...

Met the New AOPA CEO today

Guess Wichita is buzzing with aviation this week. Today while walking the flight line at ICT I met some AOPA foundation folks and they were waiting for the CEO to come in. I guess there is a aviation conference in town.

I met the King and Queen of Aviation today.

Something was stirring in Wichita, KS as there were a few dozen jets on the ramp. Turned out there are two things going on. One is a fundraiser with top state/Fed republicans and the other is Yingling Aircraft hosted a Cessna meeting of some sort. So I met John and Martha King as they were...

Engine experts: Gami Injectors, porting, polising, balancing, blueprinting

I know very little about these topics and I thought it helpful to anyone wondering about engine performance to understand these terms and what they mean. Gami Injectors are supposed to narrow the difference between your hottest and coldest CHT/EGT's so you can run the engine a bit closer to the...

Lets say we could hire a Jack Abramoff type lobyist and get some laws passed or pressure applied to faa to make flying more affordable, attractive to more people. What would we wish to change to add more pilots to the GA pool? 1. Considering all the aircraft forsale for lost medical... the...

1500 hours for ATP to fly 1st Officer

Is this really any different? How many 1st Officers had less than 1500 hrs? I know there was Cogan air incident, I do not recall his ours. How does this effect the industry? Seems this could account for some of the 80 drop out rate for recent student pilots. Boeing report tricks report...

Could proper nutrician, reduction of industrial polutants cure all ills?

Getting tired of paying high fees for Cablevision I switched to Netflix for entertainment. I watch many of the documentaries they have on health, food, government monitoring of food/drugs and the tie between drug companies, government, food companies and our health. I have found a common theme...

Which Jet carrys, 8 pax, +1500nm for $2.4 mil?

I am helping a friend to learn and discover and plan a budget for his flight department within the next year. He specifically asked about Citations and Hawkers but is not yet set on anything. These are just two choices he has locally. He and his family (business managers) have the need to move...

Buying Plane logs say replaced prop/Bearings

I'm looking to buy a Cherokee and the logs say replaced the prop and bearings but nothing about a tear down inspection for a prop strike. I know Lycoming requires a tear down for anything more than a prop dressing caused by a stoppage so what do you think?

    Interesting cover-ups

http://www.wanttoknow.info/ What I like about this site is that you can drill down to the actual news articles that were published to verify its not just someones wet dream. Still some of it is a bit out there. Some of it is very sobering.

    John MacAfee Interview

What a life. I guess I mostly believe him. Now three movies, I will have to watch all of them. He comes across as mantic at times but if I put myself in his foot steps and give him the benefit of the doubt then most of his actions do actually make sense. For those who don't know John...
