    floaty landings

During my initial 172 lessons, my instructor told me: Abeam, add first notch of flaps and target 75 knots. Base, second notch of flaps and target 70 knots. Final, full flaps and target 65 knots. These targets were simply in place to make sure that I stayed well away from stall speed throughout...

Sad: Missouri Highway Patrol chopper down

That's really sad =/ I enjoy flying in helicopters occasionally, for tours and such, but overall they scare me. The safety of a gliding airplane vs. an auto-rotating helicopter is a night and day difference during a mechanical failure.

    New member, just saying hey!

Welcome inverted! I would like to thank you for stopping by. These podcasts are great. I am still fairly new to aviation, and I feel like some of these could be valuable learning tools.

    Back in the air!

I started training in last January, but I had to stop about 4 months ago due to insufficient funds. This morning I started up again with a new instructor who teaches out of LSA's (cheap.) I logged 1.2 hrs, and it only cost $100!!! We were supposed to fly a Remos G-3, however the mechanical...

    Medical - Previosue DUI

God forbid, if that happens, I wont be asking for sympathy. I'm confident that it wont happen though, especially after discussing this issue throughout this thread. Roger that. Even if I'm not 100% safe in every part of my life, I do want to be extremely safe when it comes aviation. I plan...

    Medical - Previosue DUI

Sorry etsisk, it was the wrong attitude to bring to the forum. I know the laws and regs are in place for safety and I should not be cavalier with them. But the laws state that it is alright to drink and drive under a certain BAC limit. I honestly thought .08 would be reached after 2 beers, and I...

So none of you have ever gone to dinner, had a glass or two of wine, and then gone home? I find that hard to believe.

    Medical - Previosue DUI

Ron, I'm talking about driving here. I would never fly with any alcohol present in my blood. I was also not really asked to explain my DUI to the AME, he glanced over it and said it won't be a problem.

    Medical - Previosue DUI

Alright everyone, sorry for being immature and handling this thread terribly. I understand the dangers of drinking and driving. I don't want to lose the ability to fly a plane before I even have it. I don't want the added financial stress or more of the baggage that comes along with drinking &...

    Pictures of Turtles (N/A)

Ahh, I see the water line in that picture now. I originally thought all of the above pictures were taken while he was under water. Nope, not a bad life at all. It's nice of you to give them such a sweet setup.
