Yep; I got a PM, awaiting a response.

WTB: David Clark DC200 portable intercom

Well, I'm a big fan of David Clark. I realize they stopped making intercoms, but they make very high quality equipment, so I'll give it a go. I've never had to adjust squelch often enough to be bothersome.

WTB: David Clark DC200 portable intercom

I am in search of a working and good condition example of a David Clark DC200 intercom. If you have the four-place expansion module, I would be interested in that as well.

    Cirrus Pilot gets it right

The narrative said he turned BASE at 1200 feet. It doesn't say the altitude that the engine started to fail, only a "few minutes" after passing 800 feet. That brings up a good point. I don't care what kind of single engine piston you're flying, if you're turning base out of gliding distance...

    New Garden N57

There's a poker run the weekend of October 6th. Will you be in town for that? I'm pondering flying it myself. One of the stops is my home airport.. N14. http://www.funplacestofly.com/events/eventdetails.asp?EventID=13342

    Cirrus Pilot gets it right

Did he REALLY not let it turn into fatal accident? Or was he just lucky enough to be flying a plane with a panic handle? How would the outcome have been different if it wasn't a Cirrus?

    Cirrus Pilot gets it right

Yeah I'm not agreeing with the "Got it right". From the narrative it seems to me the pilot had a textbook power-off 180, effectively failing his commercial pilot check ride. I agree that "mushy feeling" described was probably the pilot losing control of his airspeed. I realize I'm pretty...

Ocean City, MD or NJ for July 4th

Hey all! Any suggestions on destinations for a day trip out of central New Jersey (N14) for the 4th of July? Beach, hiking, food, all good suggestions. Here's what I'm thinking so far, maybe you can comment: Ocean City, NJ (too short of a flight in my opinion) Ocean City, MD: does anyone...

    Voyager Village, WI--anybody been?

Great place! It has, however been more than 5 years since I've been there. I think you need to call ahead to have the lights turned on for you, and watch the snow piles if you have a low wing.

    DIAMOND DA20-A1 KATANA Opinions?

Kudos to Kent for finding the reference! I actually had this discussion just the other day while I was getting my initial DA-20 checkout. The helicopter training community has known this regulatory provision for a long time. Thank God, because the cheapest helicopter approved for IMC is...

    Cleared for the G1000!

You can actually set up a pilot profile in the G1000 so that when you start up, you simply select your profile and all of your settings are restored. Assuming you've flown the plane before, of course.

If anyone was at Blairstown airport yesterday...

OP Joe, what were the winds like? I've seen time and time again when people were using the designated "calm wind" runway in calm conditions only to have a fairly significant tailwind above the trees while coming down final. They couldn't seem to figure out why they just "couldn't get down". It...

    Some people...

The pilot may have been using a procedure that you may not have been aware of. Many uncontrolled fields have a designated calm wind runway. From my experience, it's usually "When wind is less than 6 knots, use runway x". The thing is, local users of the airport aren't often good at telling other...
