    Homeland Security got suspicious...

How do they establish chain of custody? I hope the ramp video cameras (if any?) have continuous video feed of the plane from when he landed till they searched and found the drugs. If it was behind a bulkhead or in the wings or something, then it would be even harder to prove that he knew it...

    Never close-throttle idle?

Not directly related to your question, but during my Instrument training I pulled the throttle back on a C172 to idle to do a power off stall under the hood. And.... things got might quiet. Turns out the idle was set to low, throttle cable stretch, whatever, and the damn thing quit...

    Is the internet collapsing?

Did Sarah Palin say she could see Russia from her house? Al Gore was closer to saying he invented the internet ("took the initiative....").

    Pacific Northwest to Oshkosh

I know upthread someone talked about a car pass for camping in the N40. Never used that procedure, but interested in it for next year. Any tips would be appreciated. I always figured you could leave a car in the Target parking lot easy enough. Brian N9093K

    N40 vs. Scholler

With how easy it is to get in and out of Scholler with a vehicle I don't know that easy access to Target and restaurants matter. We had pizza in one night in Oshkosh and the place was empty, compared to the hour wait at Friar Tuck's the night before. Didn't set up a fire one night in...

    N40 vs. Scholler

I did seem to lose a beer out of the cooler. I could swear I didn't drink it because I foolishly didn't pack a bottle opener. I had plenty of other beer in cans or twist offs so I drank those first. Being that I was with my family I didn't drink as much beer as a normal Oshkosh, and when I...

    N40 vs. Scholler

Hijacked from the Suburu thread: I want to read that! This was my first year to not take the plane up to KOSH (was taking the family for their first trip). What a different experience. I've done the dorm thing 2 years and all the others were N40 camping. Compared to the "organized...

    Subarus To Oshkosh !! (KMCI)

I know it's probably too late, but always next year. If you have access to a vehicle, I like Wendt's about halfway down 45 between Oshkosh and Fond Du Lac. Same great Lake perch, but a view of the lake. Always packed with EAAers, and usually a float plane or 2 tied up or flying doing splash...

New Cessna Authorized Service Facility in St. Louis, mo.

Maybe I missed it. Which airport in the St. Louis area? KSTL, KSUS, KCPS, KSET, KALN, 1H0? Brian Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I wish i had learned these during primary training

Did this one. It was during my instrument ticket though, not primary training. Idle was set too low on a Cessna 172. Power off stalls under the hood. Pull power to idle, pulled back on the yoke, stall.....And all of a sudden it got REAL quiet in the cockpit. Because we we in a stall the...

    Legal Question On Personal Property

Lost my phone at Oshkosh during the show back in 2008. Someone turned it into the local AT&T store. Not only did AT&T look me up and return it to me, they paid the postage. Never did find out who turned it in, but I appreciated it. Whole life was on the phone even back then. Brian Sent...

Connecting your iPad aviation map to Xplane or FSX

I wonder how this is different. Besides the price obviously! http://www.aopa.org/oshkosh/2012/news/120727cygnus-connects-ipad-sims.html#at_pco=cfd-1.0

Connecting your iPad aviation map to Xplane or FSX

That is cool! I was just thinking of how it would be neat if such a product existed. While flying x-plane and manually tracking along with foreflight.

    Storm Thursday

Wow that's a lot of water considering the grounds were dry as a bone yesterday! Thanks for the update!

    Storm Thursday

Saw that there was a storm that rolled through before the air show. I bugged out n Wednesday due to some family commitments at home. I heard on the airboss freq @liveatc that a L-39 that was supposed to fly the show was damaged and was grounded. They were scrounging to find another L-39 for...

    WiFi In The North 40

Anybody in the N40 get it working yet? The EAAWIFI SSID is broadcasting but any attempt to join it here has been useless. Luckily my phone 3G signal/bandwidth seems to be much better than last year.

We are in Row 514 Behind the Green Roof Showers

I'm along the road back up against the fence next to Friar Tucks row 550? Haven't figured out yet but it's next to row 549. The rows get all tangled here next to the fence corner so it might be 548.

    WiFi In The North 40

Last year as i remember it, it was only available for 30 minutes at a time. I.e. check your email is fine, but don't plan on getting a lot of work done or anything. I'd just tether to my phone but I seem to remember that the 3G signal sucked too. Not enough bandwidth and too many people.

Post your flight bag and what you like/dislike about it

LOL, I "graduated" my bag of the same logo to be a pistol/holster/ammo bag for shooting competitions. It's a novelty there! :) Oh, and I have a Brightline, which I bought last year at Airventure. At first I thought it was great, but I still haven't found a place for allt he little things...
