    Airtronics Appareo ESG Install PIREP

I'd like to report that we had a very positive experience with Airtronics obtaining our ADS-B equipment and installation. From ordering our equipment, to setting the appointment for installation, the Airtonics team was professional, timely and thorough in their response to our questions about...

ADS-B test flight SF Bay Area

I'm looking for advice from San Francisco Bay area pilots who have completed their ADS-B rebate test flight. Where did you complete your flight? Did you do it above 10,000 ft somewhere? Above the Sacramento Charlie? Or inside the Mode C veil north of the GG Bridge? Just curious where folks are...

    Napa Airport Earthquake Damage

I've already posted under the earthquake topic but I didn't want anyone to miss this. The Napa tower has been damaged and for the next few weeks will no longer be Delta airspace. It will be Echo. I'm in nearby Santa Rosa and there was no damage here but it was a rocker...

    ADS-B Question

Will the new Mode S transponders using ADS-B out continue to require a squawk code? I'm assuming they won't since your aircraft # is unique therefore ATC won't need you to squawk a transponder code. If that's the case what happens if a pilot needs to transmit a 7500, 7600 or 7700?

    TSA Probing

On a recent airline adventure I pondered if anyone has ever tried presenting their TSA-issued AOA photo badge to the TSA? I was not brave enough to risk a TSA probing and didn't want to make the news by being arrested for something as outrageous as presenting to the TSA a TSA issued photo ID...

    Victor Airways vs. GPS Direct

I posted this question on another site and got a lot of looks but only one response. Please let me know what you think about this question. After 25 years of no flying I finally got back in the saddle and reinstated my private ticket last year. "Back in the day" I did a lot of dead reckoning...

    Fixed Gear Mooney M20D Master

I am one of three partners in a fixed gear Mooney out of KSTS, Santa Rosa, CA. Les, our primary partner, originally purchased her two years ago. She sat outside in the Bay Area for 9 years without being flown. Les did a lot of work with a mutual friend, Cris, on bringing her back to life...
