    little sister

Good job with the sister! She enjoyed it. Kids don't smile like that unless they're lovin' what they're doing. My youngest is still waiting for her first ride. Keeps asking when the PPL will be finished so I can take her up. Might have to just grab the CFI, put the daughter in the back and go...

Do ya HAVE to go through the Rockies...

    747 Humor

That dude's nuts to stand in the intake like that!! Pretty impressive show of power to tumble more than a ton like it did, though. Didn't even make it even with the tailcone before it was blown away!

    A Kansas jaunt

I'd like to have one, that's for sure. Probably about the same operating costs as a 182 but without the larger initial purchase price as a 182.

If you can't afford real flight

Dreamfleet Archer. Never flown that one. Payware for FS2004?

    Cell Phones

Might look into the situation now. With Nextel becoming part of the Sprint system, they're solid. I've only lost signal in the same areas that other networks lose signal and have had signal in placed that they don't. Can't beat the direct connect radio, either. Solid signal up to around 5000'...

    Airline Hiring? What the???

Hence the reason I've never really wanted the "big jets". I'm on the verge of getting exactly what I want....a business in the aviation industry that will allow me to fly quite often (never as much as I want, unfortunately) yet still provide for the family. I'll never have the dump trucks full...

First flight for more family members

Good choice! I don't know the year of the 172 you had the option on, but a 98 182?? Hands down I'd take that one.

    It was decided for me

Ben, Good luck on the ME training. My time will come for that as my preferred mode of personal transportation (at least at this stage in life) is the Aztec or the 310. Just haven't decided which of the two I'd prefer. :)

    Time to make the donuts

I can't count how many times I've risen at some ungodly early hour with that "time to make the donuts" phrase in my head. He built a cultural icon out of a donut maker. He will be missed.

    First Solo

Congratulations on having your first student solo! I can understand your being nervous. My "flying career" goal is to be a CFI (adds another small income generator to the FBO business) and I've thought about that day already..the day I step out of the plane and let my first flight student solo.

The answer to Ben's question is...

A little 152 or 140 will fit that bill easily enough as well but it wouldn't be as fun as the Cub!

    Mystery Aircraft Quiz #14

I've never really been a fan of Mooney's for some reason, but that's not a bad lookin' little plane. :)

This job's not so bad sometimes...

I remember those runs across I-80 but I prefer I-10. Nice clean drive from Ontario, CA to Atlanta, GA and back. Drop and hook run. Drop the trailer in a door, get the papers signed and move to the other end of the lot for a loaded trailer. Did that at each end of the run. 6k mi/wk until my...

    Censored or real?

Those look like wing panels but could easily be an edit to the image and added later. On a side note, too bad that Huey's in such rough shape. I'd love to have one of those!

    Mo Trivia

I'm going with just about everyone here. It's a North American P-51D with the jump seat. I'll take one. Let me know when it'll be delivered! :goofy:

    Navy Life?

Reminds me of crawling out of the "bedroll" during bivouac maneuvers into 2" of water running through the tent....yuck
