Univeristy of Illinois Aviation Program recomended to be closed

This could be a good thing for SIU-C's (my alma mater) aviation program. That program has recently began construction on a new facility to house both the aviation program and automotive program (my program).

Southwest buying AirTran - didn't see THAT comin'!

As one who flies over 100 segments a year with WN (by choice as I can fly others), I challenge you to name me another airline that allows me to take my gf on every flight with me at no cost. THAT is what they offer to the biz traveler. I also have the unfortunate opportunity to fly DL and NW...

    Mountain Dulcimer

The only one I've seen was at a county airport just west of the Tennessee River (OM4). Went into the "FBO" to pay for fuel and grab a coke. When I opened a door, the dulcimer was there. Talked with the gentlemen for a good bit and he said he played on occasion but we didn't have time for a...

    Question for our attorneys

Update: After outlining my concerns with the attorney, the final bill was waved (a few hundred dollars). That should cover the cost of a meal or two  Thank you to all who provided guidance.

    Louisville, KY

Alright, you're off Hurstbourne Lane. I use to do business there (Sam Swope Auto Mall) albeit many years ago. If you have a car and can get into town, the Brown hotel and Seelbach hotel are great places to check out. There is a lot of history at both. Also, that will will put you close to...

    Louisville, KY

I was in Lexington last week and would have made the trip over. While there, in spite of Scott's suggestion :wink2:) do try a Kentucky Hot Brown sammy. They are some kind of good and guaranteed to clog an artery or two. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Brown What part of town are you...

Received this from an EAA member based at my field. Looks like a cool place. Anyone have any additional first hand knowledge they'd like to offer up? http://web.me.com/shelbysmith/EAA_162/Triple_Tree_Fly-in_2010.html

    Labor Day Fun!

Had a great Monday flight with Melissa. Took in the sights of Center Hill, Cordell Hull and Dale Hollow lakes. It was severe clear with just enough of a haze layer to remind us summer has yet to end.
