How important is a paint job?

Lacquer is cool, but IF you can find someone that can supply you with a quality product it will likely be as, or more expensive than a good urethane like aerothane plus aerothane is more flexible, it was designed that way from the jump... Oh, and ya paint is the first line of defense.... it...

How important is a paint job?

It never sleeps and it creeps... it can be anywhere on an airframe... pretty sure thats why my bonanza sold in 5 days to Florida guys.. we're high and dry here in my neck of the woods. Some guys use corro x and that's cool but I think it's pretty ugly seeping out of every crack and orifice the...

How important is a paint job?

I play with paint.... a lot. Many guys would rather not have to mess with paint or the associated down time and cost, which is why pretty planes with sub standard mx sell. I'm pretty sure if corrosion isn't a factor folks will choose a cosmetically nice a/c and do a flying mechanical resto...

How important is a paint job?

Did anyone feel 0 fear their first aerobatic flight?

Was I afraid or nervous? Nope. Annoyed damn straight... went out in an rv6a, we did a couple of rolls(no chutes).. no big woop. Then he thought he'd be cute and do a snap and loop in close prox to the damn craigy front range mountains near our airport, didn't ask if I was cool no heads up no...

Anyway we're in the process of reassembly now and we're doing the annual at the same time. I had to get alignment pins made to get the bolts through the spar.

Funny story... I had been looking into a beryl partial build and talked to an awesome guy that actually has one out west here. He invited my brother and I to fly with him. The beryl is also a Piel design... similar to the emeraud (same wing...mostly). I'd decide I always wanted a Claude Piel...

Hey people, just joined the forum. Just picked up a Cap10b and wanted to learn what I could about the Lycoming AEIO-360-B2F power plant. What do you guys know about it?
