This should be labeled more like an avocation. Sure you can fly a simulator all you want but that doesn't automatically give you the title of "pilot"; you gotta have the qualifications/license if you want the title.

For one Apple ipads are, imo (from past experience) not reliable and are overrated, but I am also wanting something that is compatible with what devices I already have.

Personally, I've never used an inflight app before. Though my CFI uses Foreflight (that and Garmin are the most popular with the CFI's in my area), I'm really not familiar with all of the other apps out there.
