    Climb by AOA autopilot

Climbing in VS is normally only used with a bad AP that can’t smoothly execute IAS

    Cuban Pilot defects in AN-2

Yeah, because deserting your family to be tortured is a great trait, just like using hard drugs to overcome emotional problems

    Cuban Pilot defects in AN-2

Shame he couldn’t get his family in it too, but leaving your loved ones to be tortured because you wanted to leave, not sure he’s the type of person we want here, I’d vote to deport him back to cuba

    Climb by AOA autopilot

I have climbed at IAS and seen my AOA drop especially past FL300

    Climb by AOA autopilot

Figure above a altitude airspeed changing to Mach changes a little, just setting the thing to climb a .X AOA would be constant as far as demand on the aircraft

I have seen many modes for autopilot, does anyone know of a autopilot that will climb by AOA?

Is that a V8 under your cowl? Or are you happy to see me?

Correct and their heart may be in the right place, but there head is not, stomping innovation into the ground is not the answer, nor is a free for all, we need a happy middle ground but I don’t think the staffing and management of the FAA are a environment that will allow innovation or safety...

    Two crew logging question

I’ve always thought it had more to do with wing loading and wind exposed surface area compared to what type of power plant and number of engines Heavy winds would be easier in a loaded lanceair over a light twin otter for example

    Malpractice with the FAA

You won’t get paid From what I remember, and this is very old info and third party, the only way to remotely come after one would be through the state license board where they are licensed, still a long shot Calling your senator does have a good track record

Is that a V8 under your cowl? Or are you happy to see me?

Knowing a few things about LS engines, and a few things about 300s and 320s, I like the LSs history over most of what is under the cowl of a 172 The LS is not a new engine and has a very good history even when run much harder than the aviation guys are running it

I want to get a medical but I'm scared

You need to be able to handle distractions in this industry As far as the medical part, go ask some of the delta dads for a good ame who they use for tuff cases, don’t complete a medexpress forum, just ask for a consult, go over everything with him, go from there Good luck

    Two crew logging question

That presumes every student is exactly the same Teaching a round out to one student will be different and may require a different technique and approach compared to another student There is a reason our training capts are not people new to the company and airframe

Global Rotax theft ring to supply Iranian drone engines?

I’m 99.9% sure china has some chinesium engine that would work on a Iranian made drone

Global Rotax theft ring to supply Iranian drone engines?

I’d wager the quality of a chinesium rotax would meet or exceed that of a Iran produced airframe, it’s also not like they robbed the factory, these are used engines with unknown history they are claiming Iran is stealing The story seems a little far fetched,

Is that a V8 under your cowl? Or are you happy to see me?

How much have you dealt with the FAA? Saying they are a major hurdle is a very fair grievance I do think it’s a little disingenuous to say experimentals swapping LS engines are “junk yard” engines, but they dump a LS into a 172 and it’s somehow different, people have LS swapped about...

Global Rotax theft ring to supply Iranian drone engines?

It’s a combat drone, not a airframe that makes TBO

NPS attempting to close airstrip at Stovepipe Wells

RAF is the only aviation group I donate to, very on mission group If you care about this type of flying, they are a good cause https://secure.theraf.org/np/clients/theraf/donation.jsp?forwardedFromSecureDomain=1&campaign=19

    Two crew logging question

Being able to explain something simply and passionately is a sign of mastery of the subject Letting a student learn from their mistakes and having the skill to let them take the plane to somewhere they can’t recover but you confidently can, that’s being a good stick Often those who don’t...

Global Rotax theft ring to supply Iranian drone engines?

Wouldn’t it be much less work for them to just ask China to make them cheap knockoffs?
