In some states, getting a drivers license is ridiculously easy. During COVID, people being tested didn't leave the DMV's parking lot. They didn't even have an examiner in the car with them. They were told which things to do by the examiner (drive to the cone, turn left, and park in this space)...

This is actually not true. I know several people who were not diagnosed until their own children went through screening. That's when they realized they also had it and got themselves tested. These are all people who went to top 10 colleges and grad schools and have had very successful careers...

For the record, I would never let my own children pursue an aviation career or even do it as a hobby if they had a medical history or ongoing challenges like what I've described.

I would hope that the system is set up to keep out people from aviation who aren't able to function at a high enough level without meds, but I've not seen much that reassures me.
