    Does ATC know our TOD?

Army did the same, all the E-1s to E-4s regardless of MOS. And we walked the runways too.

I always figured they had the lowest seniority controller(s) walk the runway before each shift and police any TOD they found...

    How High Do You Get?

Already built one. You know how sturdy those 'ole Volvo 240 wagons are. Well, I bought one with a scrunched front end and hacksawed the part in front of the firewall off (Linebacker Jack Reynolds was my childhood idol). Then I hand laid a "squarish" nose cone, calked all the doors and all the...

Does Ukraine Have the Capacity for a Doolittle Raid.

On January 12, 1950 the U.S. Secretary of State, Dean Atkinson, said in a speech to the National Press Club: "The defensive perimeter of the United States in Asia runs along the Aleutians to Japan and then to the Ryukyus.” That definition left South Korea outside of the U.S. defense perimeter...

Request Advice for Potentially bad interaction with ATC

You'd be amazed at what I've found on aircraft that just came from "maintenance," it would-- I mean it has-- filled a metal box. What gets used as a handhold, or what the back end of a flex bar gets bounced off of. It was always fun explaining the situation when you couldn't fly because a...

    Why are words deleted?

Not according to four top dictionaries. Oxford, Collins, Webster, MacMillian... Or Lexico. Profanity, Vulgarity, and Obsenity are separate and not interconnected. Words have meaning otherwise we are all just (oops-- obcenity). In aviation having the words right could well mean the difference...

    Why are words deleted?

This is the sorta thing that really annoys me. I frequently use a site that changes the names of businesses. So if I try to give directions by saying that we are in the park behind the Stop-and-Go and Howard Johnsons, it comes out "convience store" and "motel" of which there are many.

    Why are words deleted?

So, if I argued the software should not filter out "President James Buchannan," I would be arguing in favor of him? Not arguing that he is irrelevant to aviation?

I'm not defending profanity. Just pointing out that it makes no sense to censor profanity-- and that is not what is happening at PoH-- because we are discussing airplanes and not religion here.

Southwest 'purchased' frequency used by DZ for A2A and A2G

Yes, it is. I spent many years when I was younger living and working in Canada and around the Caribbean. I was always taxed by the country I resided in, and occasionally by a second country (IE: when we flew regular flights beteween Cuba and Mexico we were taxed by both countries.) I always...

Nope, and It isn't just OED... Collins: profane 1. ADJECTIVE Profane behavior shows disrespect for a religion or religious things. 2.
