    Update!

You did indeed. The plane is still flying terrific. 100 hours and no squawks at all. I have done a few upgrades, like ADSB weather, but other than routing maintenance, nada. It has been to California twice, South Texas, as well as all over NM. The wife and I are taking a 10 day flying vacation...

"Practicing crosswind landings is like practicing bleeding before surgery"

My favorite quote passed along by someone on this board......" We sweat in training so we don't bleed in battle"

    Mystery C182 Terrorizes Quincy Mass

We had something similar a while back. A 182 spent several days flying circles around our neighborhood. No one at the airport knew anything. A few weeks later a guy knocks on my door and wants to sell me a nice aerial photo of our house:rolleyes2: I told him I had plenty. He then showed me a...

Another update. I received the airworthiness certificate Jan 6th. I did the first flight a week later and have since flown off the Phase I test period. The airplane now has almost 42 hours on it. Took the first passenger last Sunday (my wife of course). Flys straight and fast! WOT at 8000 feet...

    Update!

The project is almost there. I have been painting for the last month. The fuselage has been moved to the airport and I am painting the wings now. Final assembly should be done in a month or so and on to the fun part!

Sort of an aviation related expense

I have a Lexus rx450 in the shop right now that ignored this and put two new tires with 2 old ones both are same size different brands with almost 3/4" difference in diameter..... The transaxle is being replaced as I type this. 4.5 aviation monetary units, ouch!

    RV build update

Nah, that was months ago! I am over that milestone, lol. I did however run the flaps up and down quite a bit. It's really cool when it starts to come to life.

    RV build update

Ok, much more progress now. Hung the wings the first time this weekend and did all the fab work for flap linkage, tank attach brackets, etc. then put it on the gear. The list is really getting short now.

    RV build update

Yes, it will have the leather interior from Classic Aero. I primed all the mating surfaces and the ribs and stiffeners. I didn't mess with the skins except where something was riveted on top. My thinking was that the forming of the ribs etc damaged the alcad where the skins weren't damaged...

    RV build update

Hi all, Dave Taylor asked me to update my progress with the build, so here goes. I am currently finishing up the firewall forward stuff and the panel. It is starting to come to life and the end is in sight! I sold the Piper back in January to finance the panel goodies. I am mating the wings...

    1974 Piper Warrior

It's time to fill up the panel on the RV9A, so the Warrior needs to go. 5700 TTSN 174 SMOH, New Sensenich Prop, Garmin GNC300 GPS/Com Paint and interior are decent, probably 6 out of 10, (Nick has seen it) advertised at $40,000. Make me an offer! PM me for more info

    My project had a visitor!

You are too kind Dave. Nope, this is the first airplane, but I have done lots of other projects which helped prepared my skills for aircraft construction. The wife just says I am reduculously, hopelessly, anal. Hope to drop in on you in Marfa sometime soon. Here is a picture of the current status.

    My project had a visitor!

Yes, said he had done a lot of work recently. Either that or he flew from Marfa with the gear out in the breeze:rofl:
