    New CFI, what a difference

yes to me they were hard turns but to my CFI they were perfectly safe and within the limits. I only have 12.4 hours so they were way more extreme than what the young CFI’s have been doing with me.

    New CFI, what a difference

Had an awesome flight yesterday evening with my new CFI. Did my first grass field landing which was super cool. Practiced power on and power off stalls. One of the biggest differences I noticed from other CFI’s that I have had in the past is that he really lets me fly the plane hard. Hard steep...

    New CFI, what a difference

yes he is currently a corporate pilot who flies jets for work. That’s why he only does it part time and only takes on a couple of students at a time.

Do landings just click one day?

This is why i love this site. I appreciate you all telling me exacty how it is and being truthful about your own experiences. I am definiterly in the "my mind is scrambling phase" and i tend to float a lot. However the plane is still usable after i land which a lot of you said makes it a...

Do landings just click one day?

So I have been practicing touch and go’s a lot lately to really get good at landings and for some reason it is just not clicking yet. My instructor said that it will just click one day and then they will come natural. Is that true? I have 17 landings so far and am going out again on Saturday to...

IFR Aircraft vs VFR Traffic Pattern...?

i am a student pilot at a towered airport and just today I was practicing touch and go’s when I heard a call from another GA plane on a long final. He was about 8 miles out while I was on the downwind and the tower asked me to extend and follow him in. I’d rather play it safe then to try and...

    Humble Pie

No not at all, my CFI said i did fine. We landed multiple times without breaking anything or anyone. They were just rough landings and they were harder than i thought they would be.

Thanks everyone. I didnt expect perfection but it was definitely a lot harder than i expected. The wind was brutal. I know that i need to learn how to land in wind i just wish it wasnt while i was learning everything else about pattern work. I am feeling better and am hoping for less...

    Humble Pie

Well 7 hours into my flight training I was feeling pretty good. Doing well on my maneuvers, really controlling the plane in the air. Communicating well with ATC. Today I said let’s practice touch and go’s. My flight instructor said sure and off we went. Well holy **** did I get slammed with some...

    Training after solo

Hey everyone, I am making good progress and am hoping to solo by the end of May. What happens after I successfully solo? Do I continue with an instructor? Do I keep soloing and mix in some instructor time as well? Just curious what training looks like after my first solo. Thanks
