GTX-345 and no Bluetooth in SYS menu

Yes, got it fixed. And yes, now I have FS210 envy and wish I'd spent the extra bucks to have that installed, too. In reality, my flight plans are 2 entries 99% of the time so I'll survive. ;)

GTX-345 and no Bluetooth in SYS menu

This page was what stumped us. If you hit the hit the CRSR button on this page, you can select G500/600 not just pick Present No/Yes.

GTX-345 and no Bluetooth in SYS menu

Solved. Short trip to Avionics shop in person/airplane and a call to Garmin. In the config menu (Ent + On) there is a menu that is actually a sub menu. It's a bad design, in my opinion. He made his way deep into the configuration to find GNC-500 > Disabled. The trick was that you could cursor...

GTX-345 and no Bluetooth in SYS menu

Just got the Garmin GTX-345 installed. I have a 430W and Garmin audio panel. First flight got traffic and weather on the 430W screen -- very nice. Got home and referenced the Page 3-4/3-5 of the pilot's manual to pari the 345 with my iPad via Bluetooth. No Bluetooth in the SYS menu. Backlight...

Not excited about stepping through pages. Appreciate the heads up on that, as well as the other good info.

    Garmin Avionics Shop

I want the engine monitor to replace the old EI plus the tach, MP, etc. all the little analog gauges. Wowser. Look at all that wire! That is amazing. Thanks.

    Garmin Avionics Shop

Now I'm going to have to sell the house to do that. (Only half-kidding, it is on the market.) My G5 is right where that one is. What engine monitor is that?

    Garmin Avionics Shop

I'm thinking I want to relocate the ELT. Remove the 400b and Narco. So center stack would be 750xi, 430w, 500 A/P, Transponder. Then put in the G5 stack above the yoke. Engine monitor in the G5 hole?? Or where the DME is? Leave the analog gauges on the right panel? Thanks for the inputs...

    Logbook Legitimacy?

The instrument time, total time, etc. were not a factor as I'd been flying for 25+ years already. I think he was more interested in a stick and rudder skills that are required for tail draggers and acro, since I didn't have any real non-centerline thrust experience to speak of.

    Garmin Avionics Shop

I'm new to getting any avionics upgraded. I'm curious about big shop, small shop, pricing, etc. The obvious answer, I guess is to get quotes and go from there. But, still, I have questions. Here is my current setup: GMA-350 Audio Panel 430W Navigator Narco Com/Nav GTX-335 Txpdr Old EI engine...

Best Place for Garmin G5 (2) Install - Driving Century 41 Autopilot

Thank you. They flush mounted the G5 where the turn coordinator was located so it'll look bad, but- just a cosmetic issue for me to get over. Was hoping to find an engine monitor that would fit in that square hole.

Best Place for Garmin G5 (2) Install - Driving Century 41 Autopilot

Interesting thread. Just bought a 210 with a single G5 installed as a backup. He kept the vacuum driven artificial horizon and the DG. Cessna 400b auto-pilot. Thought I could add a G5 HSI (to have a stack), gad29b and remove the vacuum system -- and have full autopilot integration. Guess not.

Variation of a theme, how many check rides?

Too many. PPL, Glider, 10 in pilot training, and then what was it, every 17 months we had an inst/qual check and mission check? Then the type rating, and airline PCs. Since 1983, this past 18 months is the longest I've gone without one.

    Logbook Legitimacy?

A regional, I suppose, would probably depend on some verification by their background check(s) of your past experience. I guess someone that built their time in their own airplane could be difficult to verify. Liars usually get caught in the LOI. Make it through that, the sim will likely uncover...

    Which Planes to Consider?

The good news is your thinking "What's my mission?" The bad news is you don't have a lot of experience to fall back on. Being in Denver, you might have rental options. That used to be the way to go -- but nowadays finding a rental is not easy outside of training and local flying. Definitely...

This happened on my XC flight today, need some thoughts on it!

Bounces I've seen were caused by two things: sink rate and plenty of flying speed left. Hefty sink rate might mean you misjudged your flare. Was it a 3 point bounce? Shimmy, shimmy, shake, shake. Be sure and write it up if it is a rental or school house airplane. See above, too.

Sell 152 as is or with radios

Thanks everyone. We looked previously on eBay for the Collins Nav and they were cheap. Maybe the Comm will be to.

Sell 152 as is or with radios

Great little 1978 152 with mid-time factory reman (1100/2000) 4200 TTAF... But the Collins radios are both dead now. Nav went out a while back. Com just quit. Mode C transponder was working, and shows to be working. Owner bought it to learn to fly in, and now is considering upgrading to a 172...
