What was the first aviation related book that you read?

Spent a week with my grandparents when I was about ten. Tom Swift and His Aerial Warship was on the bookshelf. My father and uncle probably read it, there was a date written in the cover, 1932. Sometime in the ‘60s I read the Reader’s Digest condensed version of Fate is the Hunter.

Magneto operation and constant speed propellers

Agree, I think MP will stay the same. EGTs will go up if ROP, down if LOP. Airspeed or altitude will go down. Carb ice will cause a loss of airspeed or altitude and most telling, a loss of MP.

    Today's episode of YGTBSM

Maybe pie is different on the moon. But then, they're not from the actual Moon. I'm still hacked about French Fries. And French Toast. Where is Texas Toast made? Nuts, I'll be hearing the voices all night now.

Should I let this one go?

I rented cars nearly every week for eight years at small and large airports. Lots of odd things happened but never was charged for a cleaning. Every now and then was charged more for an extra day.

Standard Rate Turns without Turn Coordinator?

The Garmin GI-275 and G5 only show a standard rate turn if the temperature sensor is installed. Need that to calculate true airspeed and the the standard rate. GI-275 Depiction is a white triangle on the attitude indicator that will move depending on TAS.

    The illusion no one mentions

About once a year I ride in the right seat with someone going to deliver an airplane or pick one up. From the right seat I wonder, why in the world can't that guy land on the centerline? Are wheels coming off when he lands crabbed like this? Only from the right see I get the illusion.

No luck with Surefly Ignition. Tech support awful. Engine won't start

The illustration in the instruction manual showing the fuse in the power line does have a note saying to locate the fuse as close as possible to the power source. It would be misleading to just look at the pictures and not read the directions.

More Garmin GNC 355 (GPS 175, GNX 375) Questions

It is more difficult for me to make changes on my iPad in turbulence than pushing buttons on my GNX375. Every now and then, push the wrong button, it's just not a big deal. When using GPSS from my 275, my Stec 60-2 must be in HDG mode. Once turned to the final approach course, switch from HDG...
