Lance, do you know the history of compressions and oil usage on your engine for the 850 hours? You reported high oil usage due to blow by. How much oil usage and has it changed a lot? Were compressions steady for 850 hours? I have a hard time understanding much for blow by with compressions...

better to open the throttle and go around than to try to save such a landing. Everyone praises go arounds and I am not knocking them when they are needed. How come no one likes to open the throttle-straighten everything out-then land again if there is 3000-4000 feet of runway left to play...

Eric, does your Pitts have spring gear? Fly off a grass field? My S-1 has bungy gear and I fly off pavement. The bungys are very tight! So far the gear could just as well be welded. I do not want to be in there when the bungys come off the stops.:eek: Rick

I thought it looked like his attitude while inverted should have maintained altitude or even climbed a little with good airspeed and power. Maybe he was short on one or both. Not good for inverted at that altitude! Rick

Ed, (and probably some others reading here) I think you should Google Paragon CRT and try this out. I have been using this for over 5 years with amazing distant vision which has not changed at all for the 5 years. It should work well for you because your correction is pretty small to begin...

I have not been near a Remos so do not know anything about them. I watched the video and did not see anything which should have buckled the nose gear like that. I cannot believe it passed certification testing if that is all it takes to buckle the nose gear. I think it may have had prior damage...
