    The other shoe drops...Grounded.

Jay finds himself in a serious moral dilemma crossed with a financial one. He will need 1) to buy into "it is fixed" mentality and sell the plane, 2) superficially buy into the "it's fixed" mentality and sell the plane or 3) take the plane off the market and eat the loss and any consequences...

Like on of those UHaul 26' foot truck rentals.

Are you inferring that by pushing the weight up the larger manufacturers gained advantage in the market? I can see that might be the case, at least the inexpensive planes built with bamboo and papier mache wouldn't compete. :D I had a school owner tell me quite frankly that he could only keep...

    PPL Knowledge test questions

I set out to make a 100% on the test knowing that it would be very difficult to do. But once I started scoring in the 90s over and over again in practice tests of different flavors and protocols, I forgot about scoring and used those answers I missed or guessed at and got right as the ones that...

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

Block payments that you can pay off quickly, in advance, it the norm in my area and by quickly I mean within a month. We have negotiated a $500 cash payment up front, no credit cards that can be surreptitiously charged based on some fine print or loophole in the contract or fraudulent behavior...

I would find it hard to believe that when the rules were being put together for LSA that the powers to be didn't have the likes of Cessna et al in the room if not to at least comment on their take on producing (cheaper) planes under the LSA regs. I firmly believe it wasn't, by the time the regs...

:yikes: If they fold, won't the bankruptcy courts take care of unsecured creditors? Can't he sue and expect justice? Gosh, maybe not. No forward payments, I hear you loud and clear. :yesnod:

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

You're right, I assumed solo but I don't know. I'm thinking a CFI with a 150/170 might train for more like $100 per hour but I haven't researched this option yet. Haven't thought about an LSA either. The ultimate goal here is to not spend more than $10,000 in 2010. I am trying to find a way to...

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

Correct on all accounts. A sit was offered, a demo flight was not, it was a pretty day and they weren't busy. I thought the prices were high as well but I don't actually know since no one else in the immediate area is offering DA-20/40s. They get a lot of European young adults with fat pocket...

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

And the second "ethics" shoe drops. Unless asked, the school does not give out that info. If asked, they provide data that "the usual student may take a few more hours" but nothing like a statistical data set extrapolated from real time training (which they have). It's these little things that...

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

Thanks, Jesse, I trained in a 172, then moved on, then recently a few flights in the DA-20. My friend who is looking at this program, I really couldn't give him a fair idea of the ease of the direct transition to the Cessna. True on the cockpit, been there, did that.

I understand from a business POV why he is saying that but have they fixed the ASI to true velocity or the stick gradient/overcontrol issues? I suppose your talking about the alleged aerodynamic flutter. Well, the planes are breaking up inflight, a couple or more were seen with folded wings and...

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

Interesting that you say that, a few months ago, that is how they offered training but the overall cost was about $9,000+ for the same. I'm wondering if they have experienced significant drop out before they collect $5,000. Hmmmmm.

    DA-20 Training Aircraft For PPL

That's their pitch, too, the change is simple. What they don't point out is that if you train in their DA-20, you will have limited availability of their DA-20's since they are for training primarily. This forces you to rent one of their DA-40s at $170-$200/hr or switch to another rental...

I've been on that "premium" leather stuff, wait till it ages for a couple of years. Granite hard. I'm 5'8" and average weight so the cockpit fits me OK but the lambs wool does help.
