    Icon A5 today?

Lake LBJ, TX. More to come thru normal channels, but apparently the pilot forgot to retract the landing gear after takeoff from a prepared field prior to a water landing.

    Taylorcraft down California

Been impressed with the extent some of the YouTube sleuths are going to for the sport of it. Most aren't pilots but they are pulling together some great nuggets. So, one guy that's an avid hiker named Buck Crockett found the helo on ADSBexchange several weeks ago, has filed a FOIA request with...

    Radar Altimeters Interference mitigation?

More like, Did anyone at the FCC do their job not to repurpose and auction adjacent spectrum for new services that by design were immediately understood to create obvious interference with established bands?

    Radar Altimeters Interference mitigation?

"why the agency [FAA] not immediately begin working with the airlines to mitigate the problem of altimeters that had been made without adequate filters for errant radio signals?" Really, is that how it gets done? Wheeler reportedly has personal financial ties to 5G, but besides, is no technical...

Most GA not affected, but for others, ALPA pushing the FAA to act on 5G interference since the FCC is dragging feet. https://www.alpa.org/resources/aircraft-operations-radar-altimeter-interference-5G

What does a "normal" market look like?

There's a 79 182Q listed at $399.9k on TAP that just highlights how whacky the market has become.

Plane crash Gillespie Field, San Diego

I saw the video and speculating here, I suspect Flight Safety had something to say about him using their logo without permission (similar to another recent incident of his using someone else's Intellectual Property) and for his blaming of FSI for inadequate training regarding speeds and just...

    Overcoming extreme nervous/irrational fears

Sam, do you have access to a simulator at the school that can help short of buying one? I'm not an instructor, but if you buy your own, use it to build knowledge of procedures and pacing with your instructor. If you become comfortable with the sequence of events, when they happen and how to...

Dan Gryder is tweaking the NTSB

QUOTE Tracey Potter call to inform me of his meeting with Mr. Steve Harris of AOPA scheduled for 05/06/08. He stated that the AOPA is aware of their mistakes in handling the paperwork with N778RD (formerly N18729) and he hopes to educate them a bit on how things should be handled. He also told...

Dan Gryder is tweaking the NTSB

QUOTE: Inspector McKee will testify that to refurbish the aircraft between November 2006 and January 2008 Gryder Networks, LLC brought the aircraft to several maintenance facilities who performed maintenance on the aircraft but who didn't make the appropriate logbook entries in the aircraft's...

Dan Gryder is tweaking the NTSB

Makes you involuntarily throw up in your mouth a little having read that evidentiary document and then hear him say on his vids (paraphrasing), "The purpose of my channel is to prevent accidents." He was actually going to pass that 177 to an unsuspecting sweepstakes winner as a legit. How did...

Dan Gryder is tweaking the NTSB

Gryder's delivery is most times amateur and buffoonish and many facts in his mind are at best speculative. However, his latest assertions (after wadding through his shtick) about the Lesh ditching the Bonanza incident and Guthmiller involvement at least to me compelling and worthy of explanation.
