    GMA 345 Audio Panel issue

Thanks for the information. I believe they can bench test it. I have been in their shop and they have an area with testing equipment, etc... They are able to work me in tomorrow afternoon so hopefully I will get answers then. Thanks again for your responses.

    GMA 345 Audio Panel issue

It is a 1963 Mooney M20C. The audio panel does have bluetooth. I don't have it on or trying to pair with anything. The clock is a Davtron. But the noise continues even when I pull its circuit breaker. I think you may be right about the shielding issue. Just trying to get my avionics shop...

    GMA 345 Audio Panel issue

I am having an issue with my audio panel and only through Com 2. Instrument list: GMA 345, GTX 345, Garmin 530W, Garmin GNC 300XL, G5 HSI, JPI EDM 900. There is a recurring noise through the Com 2 on the audio panel. It is the one the GNC300 goes through. Volume does not affect it. I have...

Did it used to be "plan your checkride XC in 30 minutes"?

I think with the various answers that it depends on the examiner. When I took my private back in 1992, I had to bring the cross country plan with me to the oral exam already done (he had given me the routing). After the oral was done we departed on the flight and the first thing we did was...

    Diagnosing sudden rough idle

I have seen this procedure on a video on Youtube. Seems like an excellent way to look for leaks. Were you able to do this by yourself or did you have help? It seems like a two person job since pressurizing a cylinder will cause the prop to move. I wanted to do this on my airplane. Trying to...

Have You Had Covid? Bad News: Your Aviation Medical Examiner Needs To Know All About It

Had my Class III medical in February. Nothing was asked about Covid. But I did have to fill out a 3 page questionnaire on sleep apnea so get ready for that.

    AWC issues?

If I go to the hourly forecast and try to change the time that the 48 hour period starts then I got an error on some of them in the drop down window and not on others. And then when I go back later to the ones with the error message they are now working. Just must be some minor glitch in their...

Fixed Leg Options for 3-4 people 135 or more kts

I think if you are set on fixed gear then a Cherokee 6/200 would work. You get the speeds you are looking for, you can haul your house and they seem to be well less than $100,000. I think a drawback is they seem to be very scarce right now. Only 2 available on controller.com

Wow, there are some really gorgeous airplanes on this forum. Here are photos of my 1963 Mooney C model. I have owned this airplane for 15 years.

    The 300 hour blahs

Prior to my divorce (last year) my ex-wife and I would fly all over the place. We would take long vacations, short vacations, overnights etc.... She was ok with flying because it got us places quicker than driving. Now that I am divorced, I have changed my flying habits (don't do the single...

Best eyeglass frames for flying headsets

Not sure of the style but I have heard very good things about Flying Eyes. The temple frames are so thin and flexible that apparently they can be under an over the ear headset like the Bose A20 and not be an issue. I fly with sunglasses from Dualeyewear.com. They have worked fine for me and...

    Mooney M20M Bravo

Devil's advocate here....You are a newly minted pilot (12/2020). How many hours do you have? This is a lot of airplane for a new pilot. Lots of complex systems to control (big engine, turbo, fast, retractable gear, etc...etc...) I am not saying you can't do it. There have been lots of pilots...
